Winter carnival attracts huge tourists’ footfall at Patnitop

Patnitop | : The two day Patnitop winter carnival witnessed huge footfall of visitors who visited Sanasar, Kud and Batote to celebrate the New Year.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam inaugurated the winter carnival at Patnitop in presence of SSP, Ramban, Mohita Sharma, ADC, Harbans Sharma, CEO, PDA, Thakur Sher Singh, Dy. Director Tourism (Jammu), Naresh Kumar and several other dignitaries.
The main attraction of the programme was the thrilling performance of renowned Punjabi singers Lakhwinder Vadali and Sangram Hanjra..
According to Chief Executive Officer, Patnitop Development Authority, Sher Singh, the carnival was organised by PDA in collaboration with the Tourism Department and the district administrations of Ramban and Udhampur to promote tourism in Patnitop and its surrounding areas.
A large number of tourists from all over India, especially U.P Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Karnataka thronged the Padoora area at Patnitop and enjoyed the activities organized by the department during the mega event of winter carnival and “Bid adieu to 2021 & Welcomed 2022” amidst strict Covid protocols. Tourists were enthralled by many musical performances.
The three-day carnival coincided with the New Year celebrations amid snowfall season at Patnitop which is a major attraction for the tourists. The event was a confluence of local Dogri art, ethnic cuisines, cultural performances, run activities, snow games and adventure activities to engage the tourists and showcase indigenous culture with other engaging activities during the celebrations.
The festival was a major attraction for the tourists who visited Patnitop and enjoyed the beautiful snowfall with the Dance-Music-Adventure-Food fest.
The tourists appreciated the efforts of the Tourism Department by organizing the tourism activities in the region and making elaborate arrangements for celebration of the Snow Festival on New Year’s Eve at Patnitop
