Hit and run case solved in Kulgam, accused arrested: Police

Srinagar | Jan, 1: Police on Saturday said that it has solve a hit and run case in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district and also arrested the accused in this connection.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that Police Station Kulgam received inputs about one person namely Jahangir Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Subhan Dar resident of Shurat Kulgam being hit by an unknown vehicle while driving a motorcycle near village Laroo area of Kulgam resulting his on spot death, stating therein further that the driver of the unknown vehicle fled away from spot along with the vehicle.
Stating that a case vide FIR number 258/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation was initiated , police in it’s statement further said that a special investigation team was constituted to probe the hit and run case. “Investigation team taking advantage of modern gadgets, technical evidences & human inputs identified the accused driver & subsequently arrested the accused within two days of the incident following which he was identified as Mashooq Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Salam Dar resident of DH Pora and his Swift Car bearing registration number DL5CK-9240 has also been seized”.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police said that the accused has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody and further investigation of the case is in progress.
