DM Shopian extensively tours far-flung areas

Shopian | : The District Magistrate (DM) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Saturday took an extensive tour of various far-flung villages of the district including Ramnagri, Reshnagri Aad, Sheikhpora Payeen, Tunnel Sedow and Chotipora.
On the occasion, the DM inspected Government High School Sedow and directed the concerned authorities to gearing up their developmental activities to facilitate the school going children and ensure all basic facilities to them.
He also inspected the under construction work of Chotipora Middle School and directed the concerned to speed up the pace of ongoing developmental works on top priority basis within stipulated time frame.
During the visit, the DM said that the aim and objective of this visit is to have an on spot assessment and status of ongoing developmental works presently under execution, besides to have first hand appraisal of the ground situation of these areas relating to availability of basic amenities, essentials and also to listen to the demands, issue and grievances that the inhabitants of these areas are presently facing.
Vaishya en-route to these areas first took a detailed inspection of NTPHC, Ramnagri and directed Tehsildar Shopian for monitoring the progress of the execution work and ensuring fencing and cleanliness in and around the NTPHC.
The DM directed Chief Medical Officer Shopian to make sure the functioning of NTPHC at Ramnagri immediately so that the people of the area could get first aid health facilities within the shortest possible time.
He also directed Chief Education Officer, Shopian for providing the staff in Higher Secondary School and Middle School Ramnagri, both the Schools are facing dearth of staff.
Locals and some deputations from adjacent areas apprised the DM about various issues particularly relating to improvement of roads, improvement in water supply, upgradation of health services, schools and repairs of internal roads.
Responding to the issues and demands raised, the DM once again reiterated that the district Administration is committed that such initiatives shall prove result oriented and fruitful for the common people.
He said that his top most priority shall be to address as many issues as he can that are within his domain without wasting any time.
He also assured the public that they themselves can feel the difference and witness ground results very soon. He added that the works under execution shall be completed at an earliest.
Vaishya during the visit also took a detailed inspection of PHC, Sedow where he took stock of the facilities and services being provided to the patients, besides he also conducted an administrative checkup of the PHC to know about the requirements. He directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the fencing work of PHC Sedow and its repair work.
The DM was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, Chief Planning Officer, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, Tehsildar Shopian, concerned district and sectoral officers during the visit.
Later, DM also inspected under construction work of Park/Cafeteria near Circuit House Shopian and stressed for speeding up the execution work and beautification of the said park coming up at an estimated cost of Rs.9 lakh by the department of Rural Development Department.
