DDC reviews traffic de-congestion measures in Bus stand, markets

Doda| : The District Administration Doda is mulling to develop a multi level parking facility to address the traffic congestion problem in the district headquarter Township (Doda).
District Development Commissioner, Vikas Sharma Wednesday visited the bus stand to review the implementation of the decongestion measures and also assessed the design formulated for the construction of the multi level car parking.
Examining the blueprint of the project, the DDC considering the concern of the Councillors of MC Doda, directed all the concerned authorities including EO MC, Transport department, executing agencies to come up with a fresh layout in consultation with the MC representatives to include their suggestions.
Moreover the DDC directed the ARTO to issue a notification with regard to paid parking across the town which had been already identified. He said the same can be utilized by the motorists living adjoining to these paid parking spaces. He further asked to shift the auto rickshaws as per the roster to different locations to avoid traffic jams.
Meanwhile, the EO apprised the DDC that all the unlicensed rehris have been removed from the bus stand and adjoining places. The DDC directed the EO to earmark the space for the licensed rehris in the vicinity to reduce the traffic. He further asked to keep check on the vendors selling goods on footpaths.
The DDC was accompanied by President MC Doda,VP MC Doda, Councillors, ARTO Doda, Ex En PWD, EO MC Doda, Naib Tehsildar Doda, SHO Doda, besides other officials of different departments.
