DC Budgam holds Public Darbar at Gurwait, Khansaheb

Budgam |: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Wednesday held a public darbar in the far flung area of village Gurwait in Khansaheb.
During the public outreach programme, PRI members including local Sarpanchs, Panchs and other locals who were present on the occasion, raised their issues and demands with the DC.
Among other issues, the locals demanded macadamization of link roads, improvement in water supply, construction of culverts, drains and concrete bund besides irrigation canal, upgradation of middle school to higher level, facilities of Animal Husbandry dispensary, agriculture and horticulture centres and improvement in other services and facilities.
The locals hailed the district administration for carrying out works under different schemes and facilitating improvement in electricity supply, health services and macadamization of main roads. They demanded early tendering of pending works and release of completed projects.
After giving patient hearing to the locals, the DC called upon the concerned on holding a joint public grievances redressal camp next week. He said that all the concerned officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and other concerned shall aware locals about various government sponsored schemes, ensure on spot resolution of issues raised by the public during the camp.
He also assured the locals that every household shall be provided with tap water connection under Jal Jeevan Mission on war footing.
He further said that all their genuine demands shall be addressed on priority.
Among others, CEO DDA, ACD, CMO, Tehsildar Khansaheb, DEPO, Ex. Engineers DDA, R&B, PHE, DSHO, AD Planning, and officers and representatives from other concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
Later, the DC visited Doodhpathri to take stock of tourism related arrangements and facilities.
The DC was accompanied by CEO DDA, ACD, Tehsildar Khansaheb, Ex. Engineers DDA, R&B, PHE and others are concerned.
During the visit, DC interacted with tourists, drivers and pony wallas and enquired about the facilities.
He directed concerned besides utilizing snow clearance machinery, salt and other chemicals be used from TRC up to Parihas Maidan to make the road through for the hassle-free to and fro tourist movement.
Stressing on winter tourism promotion, the DC instructed the concerned to make arrangements for snow sports related equipment including ski, tubes, sledges, chains for vehicles, parking arrangements at identified spots and other equipment available at the tourist spot.
He further laid stress on making all arrangements available to the tourists and directed concerned to ensure proper implementation of government approved rate list of services.
