DC attends public outreach camp in Ramban

Ramban |: District Administration, Ramban Wednesday organized weekly “Block Diwas” meetings at all designated blocks to address people’s issues at their doorsteps. The camps were held under strict Covid protocols.
The officers and officials of line departments attended the meeting to listen to the grievances of the public besides resolving their issues on the spot.
Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam along with DDC Councillors, Rakesh Thakur and Renuka Katoch, ACD, Zameer Ahmed Rishu, BDO Ramban Vishal Atri and officers of line departments attended the programme at Ramban.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner asked the PRIs and concerned department to constitute Self Help Groups comprising five members to provide them livelihood in their localities. He also asked the PRIs to encourage the registered contractors to take part in the tendering process to ensure development of rural areas.
The DC also directed the officers of RDD to start the construction on the works sanctioned under DDC, BDC and PRIs Area Development Fund, 2021-22.
Responding to the issues highlighted by the PRIs, the DC passed on spot directions to concerned departments to resolve all their genuine issues on priority basis. He also directed BDOs to ensure completion of PMAY houses.
The DC also exhorted upon PRIs to closely monitor the developmental works being executed in their respective areas to ensure quality and timely completion.
The DC also directed CMO to ensure vaccination of all eligible people as per fresh guidelines. He further asked the officers to improve service delivery and address public grievances highlighted during the meeting.
Earlier, Sarpanchs and Panches raised many developmental and other issues including establishment of ATM at Seri, issue of unscheduled power curtailment and sought early redressal of the same.
During the Block Diwas meeting at Ukhral, the BDC Chairperson Karleep Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ramsoo, Dil Mir Choudhary, Dy. DEO Lal Chand, Tehsildar Ukhral Nasir Javid, ENT; Mohan Lal distributed EPICs among new voters registered by the Election Department, Ramban.
