Ang| : To review the progress and achievements of the Jal Shakti department, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani Wednesday chaired a meeting with the officers of the department.
Executive Engineer PHE Bijbehara informed the meeting that most of the schemes will be completed in August 2022 and out of 24, 10 stands are physically completed and some work is in progress.
The schemes which are near to completion are papibal, prakash pora scheme, Anicheck, Karewa Wanganui, Ballyaar, Samthan etc. Financial progress in some schemes are yet to be achieved and in some schemes land dispute, compensation etc are hampering the progress rate, said the Ex. engineer PHE Bijbehara. Ex engineer PHE Qazigund briefed the chair about the progress, achievements and targets. He informed that 95 percent water schemes taken in hand stands are physically completed and commissioned for the public, like Tengpora Panzath, Tanjeloo Chekiwangan, Havered, Manzhama etc.
Ex. Engineer of Irrigation and Flood Control also presented the scenario of achievement in different centrally sponsored schemes.
The ADDC stressed upon the concerned officers to achieve the targets well before targeted time. Water being the basic component for sustainence of life therefore it is the duty of all to preserve the water sources and avoid the contamination of water.
Stressing upon the “Har Ghar Nal Say Jal” mission, the ADDC emphasised upon the officers to make the theme to exist on ground besides to implement the JJM in letter and sprit.
The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulics, EX. Engineers of Jal Shakti, I&FC, ACD and CPO.
