Series of plantation drives conducted in Sunderbani Forest Range

Rajouri | : Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera Tuesday conducted a series of Plantation Drives in Sunderbani Forest Range under Har Gaon Hariyali campaign.
The plantation drive was conducted in Panchayat Brevi where locals and Forest Officials planted fruits, flowers and other saplings.
Divisional Forest Officer, Neelima Shah said that the main objective of Har Gaon Hariyali campaign is to hold plantation drives in every Panchayat and make people aware about the importance of Forests.
She said that the Nowshera Forest Division has conducted 58 plantation drives during this year and the campaign has now been extended to left out Panchayats.
Later, under the theme Protection of Peepal and Banyan tree, a drive was organized in Hathal. Several Peepal and Banyan saplings were planted in the Hathal temple. Sarpanch Bal Krishna, Naib Sarpanch and local people participated.
Another plantation drive was conducted at Hathal by planting fruit and flowering plants. A large number of women along with Sarpanch Panchayat Hathal, Naib Sarpanch and locals participated. On this occasion, the local girls interacted with DFO Neelima Shah about the IFS examination preparation and. Giving detailed information to them, Neelima Shah said that she was always ready to help them.
Range Forest Officer Sunderbani, Rakesh Verma said that the besides holding plantation drives under Har Gaon Hariyali at Panchayat level, the department also organized awareness camps to spread information about the various programs being run by the Forest Department.
The Divisional Forest Officer also inspected the pond made in the local forest area.
Ved Prakash Block Officer thanked Sarpanch Hathal, Naib Sarpanch Hathal and all the participants along with Sarpanch Panchyat Brevi.
The event was conducted under the direct supervision of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri.
