ARTO Reasi conducts checking on Numain- Katra Route

Reasi | : Acting on a number of complaints of overcharging of fare & overloading in Slipper coaches, the ARTO Reasi, Rajesh Gupta Tuesday conducted massive checking on Numain- Katra Route.
During the inspection, the ARTO enquired directly from passengers about the fare being charged and also held a meeting with the public and their elected representatives to sort out the issues regarding the transport in their area.
He assured the public that strict action under the Motor Vehicles Act shall be initiated against all violators and offenders.
During the extensive checking, the team challaned 03 Vehicles to the tune and Rs. 39000 for violations of various traffic rules.
The ARTO ordered operators to display fare list on travel agencies & other prominent places for the information of the general public and specially for Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
The ARTO also sensitised the drivers about Motor vehicle Act and urged upon them to follow all the traffic rules to ensure their safety as well as the safety of the others.
While interacting with the drivers as well as the general public, Rajesh Gupta asked them to follow COVID SOPs issued by the Government of J&K from time to time.
