ADC Jammu discusses Parkash Purab arrangements

Jammu | : Additional Deputy Commissioner (LO) Ghanshyam Singh Tuesday chaired a joint meeting of officers of various departments and members of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) to review the arrangements for celebration of Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji’s birth anniversary (Parkash Purab) falling on January 05, 2022.
The meeting was attended by ACR Vijay Kumar, ACG Rakesh Dubey besides officers from Traffic, Police, PDD, Health, JMC, Jal Shakti along with representatives of religious organizations.
It was informed that the main function would be held at Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu on January 05, 2022 where the devotees would perform prayers and attend Akhand Path followed by Shabad Kirtan and Guru ka langer.
Detailed deliberations were held on important issues including provision of adequate power and water supply, security arrangements during Parkash Purab, special drive for sanitation around the Gurdwaras, adequate security arrangements, besides deployment of medical teams and ambulances near Gurdwaras etc.
The ADC directed the Traffic Department to put in place necessary arrangements for smooth and hassle free traffic movement around the Gurdwaras. The Health Department was asked to station fully equipped ambulances with first aid and requisite manpower at the venue.
Likewise, the Police department was directed to ensure adequate security arrangements near the Gurdwaras. The ADC also asked the PDD and Jal Shakti department to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during the festival.
The ADC also appealed the religious organizations to follow the SOPs regarding Covid Appropriate Behaviour like maintaining social distance, wearing face mask, use of sanitizer etc.
