Parents urged to enroll their wards in winter tutorials to take maximum benefit

VC DDC inaugurates Winter Tutorial at GHSS Maidanpora, GHSS Warnow

Kupwara | :  Vice Chairman, District Development Council (VC-DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir Monday inaugurated Winter Tutorial centres at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Maidanpora and GHSS Warnow.

On the occasion, the Vice Chairman interacted with the students at both the schools and impressed upon them to take maximum advantage of the winter tutorial programme initiated by the Government.

He said that the winter tutorial initiative is aimed to  provide free tuition service to the students especially belonging to poor families so that they can compete in National level competitive exams like NEET and JEE.

Mir appealed the parents to enroll their children in the winter tutorial centres to take benefit of free coaching provided by the Government.

He said that the Government is spending a good amount of money on the education of a child adding that the students should take maximum benefit from the teachers who are efficient and highly qualified.

He impressed that the Government is providing many amenities like uniforms, books, mid day meals etc to the children to ensure their free and smooth education.

Taking dig at drug abuse, the VC urged the students to keep distance from immoral activities like drugs which are destroying the bright future of our society.

He also distributed Enrollment application forms among the students.

The VC DDC directed the Principals for accommodating class 8th students in the winter tutorial so that they get benefited. He also asked the young Junior JKAS officers to visit the local schools occasionally and provide counseling to the students so that they can take advantage of their experiences and can compete in competitive exams like Civil Services.

Other speakers including ZEO Khumriyal, SDPO Sogam, BDO Wavoora and other officers who were accompanying the Vice Chairman also spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the VC provided Rs.1.50 lakh under ADP to GHSS Maidanpora for construction of the Community Sanitary Complex in the school. He also gave sanction of Rs.15 lakh under MGNREGA for maintenance of the playfield in the school.

The VC also inspected ongoing construction of Library and Academic blocks in the Higher Secondary school Maidanpora and directed the concerned for completion of the projects within the stipulated time frame.
