Rajouri | : Former MLA and Apni Party Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh on Monday interacted with the industrialist delegations from Bari Brahmana who apprised about the snags faced by them in the smooth running of their units.
In a statement issued here, Singh said that while the government makes tall claims about providing ease and relaxations to industrialists but the actual condition at the ground remains in contrast to what is being professed.
“Industrialists here have to contend with numerous problems in the shape of bearing the brunt of economic slowdown and unfriendly policies that undermine the basic interests of the unit holders. The government must ensure that favorable considerations are given to the recommendations and demands of this valuable section of our society,” he said.
Taking a dig at the J&K Real Estate Summit, Manjit Singh said while bringing in investments into J&K is a welcome step but this should not at the expense of diluting the domicile law.
“There needs to be a check on such moves which undermine the rights of the natives of J&K. Where investments and business activities are welcome but compromising over the integrity and the rights of native residents of Jammu and Kashmir can never be tolerated and acceptable,” he said.
Manjit Singh urged that the administration must work for resolving the issues of the local inhabitants rather stoking controversies on a routine basis.
“We are witnessing a farrago of arbitrary laws introduced every now and then which essentially multiply the existing woes of the common man. A good governance thinks about the welfare of the people rather than suspending their rights. We take a strong exception to such maneuvers that intend to weaken domicile law and job rights,” he said.
