Officers asked to focus on on synergy between deptts to celebrate R- Day with Patriotism, fervor, gaiety

Srinagar | : The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Thursday chaired a high level meeting to review the security and civil arrangements for the celebration of forthcoming Republic Day, here.
The venue of the main function of Republic Day will be decided tomorrow after a visit by the Divisional Commissioner and other officers to Bakhshi Stadium where the availability of facilities, seating capacity and ground position will be inspected.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner passed several directions to the concerned officers for smooth conduct of the National event. He stressed on close synergy among the concerned departments while making arrangements.
The meeting was attended by DC Srinagar; HoD’s and representatives of SMC, Srinagar; Academy of Art Culture & Languages, Kashmir; Information department, School Education, Floriculture, Health Services; Regional Transport; J&K Sports Council, Srinagar; PWD (R&B), PHE, KPDCL, UEED, MED Kashmir; Hospitality & Protocol, Fire & Emergency Services, Youth Services & Sports, Information, State Motors Garages Kashmir and officers of other departments.
While from the police department the meeting was attended by DIG police, other officers of police, Traffic besides officers from Army and Paramilitary Forces.
The Div Com directed officers of line departments to play a comprehensive and active role with full responsibilities for the celebration of Republic Day with fervor and gaiety.
He issued directions to concerned departments for selection of contingents, cultural programmes, rehearsals, transportation facilities for participants, traffic management, security, refreshment, installation of screens/ LEDs, illumination of Government buildings and other important arrangements for smooth conduct of the event.
He directed JD information for making arrangements for Shahnaiwadan, PAS System besides installation of LEd Screens at Lal Chowk, TRC and other prominent places where the Republic Day celebration will be webcast.
Div Com also directed Cultural Department officer to make arrangements of 3-5 cultural contingents besides directed for singing, dancing and drama programmes based on patriotism and communal harmony.
He also directed to include college NCC contingents in the parade in addition to the main bands and contingents of police, army, CRPF and other security agencies. In this regard, Div Com directed police officers to start the parade ten days before the main function at the selected venue.
Also, for the live commentary, Div Com directed concerned officers, police and Radio Kashmir to depute Commentators one each by them. He further directed director Radio Kashmir to depute two additional commentators including one female and one male.
Div Com also directed Floriculture departments to make more decorative and creative floral arrangements in addition to the past practice.
Besides, he directed the Health department to deploy doctors, paramedical team, ambulance besides first aid team at the venue of Republic Day Celebration. He also directed the station of the team at Zewan to conduct the RAT tests and thermal screening of participating contingents in parade.
The Div Com directed DC Srinagar to install hoardings to publicize the developmental achievement by various government departments during the current year.
He also directed SMC and MED for making arrangements of snow clearance at parking places, roads and selected venue in case of snowfall.
Further, he exhorted upon all concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day.
