Srinagar | : Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal Thursday visited Seed Multiplication Farm Gangbugh. He inspected different blocks of the farm and took stock of different Agriculture activities.
While speaking to the staff and technical experts of Gangbugh Farm Director Agriculture said that Department has started an initiative and is endeavouring to optimize the utility of Departmental farms to attain self reliance in the field of seed requirement for Kashmir Division. We have already fixed bench marks and targets for every departmental farm in the valley so far as the production is concerned and after visiting different farms during the recent times we are satisfied and optimistic that we could achieve those targets in an effective manner, he added.
Director Agriculture said that the department is executing a comprehensive plan under the supervision and guidance of Principal Secretary AP&FWD Navin Kumar Chowdhary, to transform all the departmental farms into the revenue earning and employment generating assets for the Department.
Director Agriculture appreciated the efforts of the concerned technical experts and asked them to work with close coordination, so that the Farms could achieve new heights in the years to come.
On the occasion Director Agriculture initiated the sowing of Knol Khol and cabbage Seeds under controlled conditions for early distribution among the beneficiaries.
Director Agriculture was accompanied by some of the senior officers of the Department and the Farm Manager.
