DC Kulgam visits Mechanical Field Sub-Divn Kulgam

DM also takes stock of availability of machines, preparedness of Deptt for snow clearance

Kulgam | : To oversee preparedness for snow clearance and availability of machinery in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited Mechanical Field Sub-Division Kulgam.
During the visit, the DC took a detailed stock of availability of snow clearance machines, snow clearance plan and functioning of control rooms.
The concerned AEE informed that the total road length incorporated in mechanical snow clearance Action plan 2021-22 is 533 kms with priority Ist 361 kms and priority 2nd 172 kms. The number of roads to be cleared is 147 out of which 72 are priority 1st and 75 are priority 2nd roads.
The AEE also briefed the DC about the availability of machinery and added that the district has availability of two snow cutters Rolba 1500 and Fresia F90. In addition to the snow cutters there are 07 Snow Ploughs, 09 Snow Cats and 01 Loader in the district ready to mobilise for prompt snow clearance.
The AEE also informed that they have established Snow clearance control rooms at Chawalgam Kulgam with AEE Er. Ab. Rehman Khan 9697336240, A.E Er. Rais Ahmad Laway 7889791961 and J.E Mohd. Ashraf 9419961341 and one dedicated Snow Clearance Control Room at Bathipora D.H Pora for Noorabad with Er. Khursheed Abdullah A.E 9622446646, Er. Anil Bhat (J.E) 9797805678 and Er. Profil Bhat (J.E) 9797448994 monitoring the snow clearance operation.
In addition to it one Snow Cat is to be pre-positioned in the Kund area with Er. Abhimanyu J.E 7889390253 monitoring the Mechanized Snow clearance in the said area.
The DC instructed officers to keep all men and machinery ready to ensure timely Snow clearance from all roads to avoid any inconvenience to people.
