Speedy services delivery promised during Good Governance week campaign

Reasi| : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Charandeep Singh Wednesday listened to the people’s issues during a block divas meeting held at Arnas.
The DC was accompanied by PO ICDS Renu Kumari, ACD Dr. Anirudh Rai, GM DIC Gurdev Kumar, DSWO Gulshan Kumar, AD Food Mohammad Sayeed, DPO, CMO, CEO, BDOs, engineers from various technical wings and block level officers.
BDC Chairperson Neena Devi and DDC Member Arnas Raj Kumari along with PRI members and other local people from various remotest villages attended block divas.
The local people demanded water supply to Kanthan, Dhanour and others areas, improvement in power supply, employment of local youth in railway companies, identification of genuine beneficiaries for PHH ration card, new school building at Chillad Souni, work on Gund Morh to Upper Judda PMGSY road, re-activation of students’ bank accounts for scholarships, water pumps along Kanthan-Sawalkote road and Bhim devsthan and Bawa morh Arnas, Black topping of dam top road, Narloo to Thanpal road etc.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the issues projected by PRI members and resolved many of them on the spot. For pending issues, directions issued to the concerned officers for their early redressal and he said that any public service delivery slackness on the part of district officers shall be viewed seriously.
The DC also impressed upon the officers to work with utmost zeal to achieve the assigned targets besides ensuring services delivery benefits to the local people. He said that the motive of block divas is to reach out to the people and understand their problems. This initiative of taking administration at the doors of people practically realizes the initiative of good governance, he added.
Referring to SBM, the DC sought cooperation from local people and PRI members in devising localized techniques for management of solid and liquid waste from the households, markets and other thickly populated areas of the district.
It is worthwhile to mention here that during this good governance week expeditious Public Service Delivery was ensured like case for purchase of tractors was processed by CHO Reasi, bank loans sanctioned by J&K Bank Chassana, tractors were purchased whose keys were handed over to all beneficiaries within 48 hours.
Live demonstration sessions for segregation of solid and liquid waste, preparation of eshram cards and Ayushman cards, Apni Zameen Apni Nigrani and issuance of revenue certificates were also held. Meanwhile, some departments distributed seeds, plants, agriculture equipment, hearing aids and medicines to the public.
Locals appreciated the District Administration for reduction in mining rates which has eased the problem of construction activities in this region especially of pending PMAY-G houses and works approved under capex and other schemes of the department.
Earlier, DDC Member and BDC Chairperson while speaking on the occasion also apprised DC of burning issues of their areas pertaining to power supply, water supply, completion of incomplete roads and infrastructural development.
