Ang | : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of Saller, Dachnipora, Srigufwara belt as part of the ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur’ initiative during the ongoing ‘Good Governance Week’.
The week is being held as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ campaign, celebrating 75 years of independence.
On the occasion, a public darbar was held at GHSS Saller, during which various delegations put forth their demands pertaining to issues like arrangement of winter tutorials in close vicinity, supply of electricity, stocking of rations, expediting completion of Dachnipora WSS, walling of GHS Saller, rationalization of fare for public transport, installation of electric poles and enhancement of labour budget.
Dr Singla assured the people that all their genuine grievances will be addressed in a time bound manner. He directed concerned officials to share an action taken report within a week.
The DC inspected the additional block being constructed at GHSS Saller and the public park being developed by RDD in the school for students.
Dr Singla distributed 30 ST, Pahari and Domicile certificates among beneficiaries.
The DC also visited Sub Centre Liver and interacted with on duty staff and patients. He took stock of the various medicines available at the center.
He inspected the chain link fencing of the sub centre and compound walling of the graveyard at Liver. The works are being executed by RDD under District CAPEX. He also inspected link roads being constructed in the interiors of Liver and issued directions to complete the entire stretch of road to link the villages.
Dr Singla visited GMS Liver and inspected the playground and administrative block, several Nallah crossings at Liver, irrigation khul in Pyt Halqa Kathsoo, development of spring at Kathsoo, tile lane at Watpot.
The DC jointly inaugurated the Panchayat Bhawan at Panchayat Halqa Trail B along with Sarpanch Trail B. The bhawan has been constructed by RDD under RGSA and was completed at a total cost of Rs 24 lacs.
In mega Block Diwas held at Govt Hr Sec School, Srigufwara several delegations met the DC and put forth their grievances.
Various PRI members put forth their grievances regarding water supply, land compensation in Sirhama, completion of B2V works, commissioning of transformers installed and cellular connectivity in Khiram Gujrat besides augmentation of Anganwadi centres.
The DDC member from Dachnipora said that several works have been initiated under District CAPEX and PRI grants. He said that the Tehsil HQ is being constructed under the PRI plan and will be completed soon. He said that special power supply may be provided for essential healthcare facilities to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
The DC gave a patient hearing to all the demands and assured the attendees that their genuine demands will be addressed on priority. He assured the locals that the development budget has been tripled this year and most of the works are nearing completion.
He said that once these works are completed, the development undertaken will be witnessed by all. He said that in a developing society, a balance between allocated budget and satisfying local demands has to be maintained and over the course of time, all demands will be addressed.
DC said that the year is nearing its end and it is the right time to initiate the planning process for the next year. He said that the planning process is vital and people should fully participate in the process through Gram Sabha.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by ADDC, ACD, CPO, CMO, Ex Engineers of R&B, PHE and KPDCL besides DPO among others.
