Drug peddler arrested in Kulgam : Police

Kulgam | : Police on Tuesday said that it has in arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and also recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said that on specific information a police party of Police Station Kulgam established a checkpoint on Okay Road and during checking a suspicious person, who on noticing the police party tried to flee from the spot, but was apprehended tactfully and identified as Manzoor Ahmad Padder son of Ab Majeed Padder resident of Okay Kulgam.
Stating that during searches 75 grams of Charas, 400 grams of Cannabis Powder & 200 grams of dried Cannabis leaves were recovered from the possession of the above named accused who has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, police in it’s statement further said “a case vide FIR number 254/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to reassure the people that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
