Awantipora | : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested four militant associates linked with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit in a joint operation with security forces in South Kashmir’s Awantipora police district and also recovered incriminating materials including arms & ammunition from their possession.
Stating that acting on specific input, Awantipora police along with 50RR and 110BN CRPF apprehended 04 militant associates linked with Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit, police in it’s statement said that the said militant associates have been identified as Zubair Gul son of Gh Mohd Ganie, Adil Fayaz Ganie son of Fayaz Ahmed Ganie, Basit Ali son of Ali Mohd Dar all residents of Samboora and Shahid Nabi Pandith son of Gh Nabi Pandith resident of Konibal Pampore.
Claiming that incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including Pistol, Hand Grenade have been recovered from the possession of above named militants associates linked with JeM the police in it’s statement further said “during the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the arrested militant associates were in touch with JeM commanders & were involved in transportation of arms & ammunition and were also providing shelter and other logistic support to the active militants operating in Samboora & Pampore areas of Awantipora.
Police in it’s statement also said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation has been taken up.
