Jammu| : Two week long online student induction program for B.E first year students of GCET, 2021 batch concluded here Monday.
The program was organized by student induction program cell of GCET, Jammu as per the guidelines of AICTE under the Patronage of Principal, GCET, Dr. Sameru Sharma.
Speaking on the concluding day of the program, Dr. Sameru Sharma appreciated students for their enthusiastic participation in the induction program. She stated that the program was designed not only to guide students for various job prospects but also to explore their talent and creativity.
In her closing address, Coordinator for Student induction program, Dr. Anita Brar highlighted that the real objective of the programme was to make freshers inquisitive learner, socially conscious, ethically and morally upright individuals.
The program was followed by lectures and interactive sessions by experts and eminent speakers from reputed institutes and companies across the country. Several doubts and queries raised by the students during the interactive sessions were amicably answered by the experts.
On the ocassion, Dr. Yogesh (Assistant Professor, NIT Patna) delivered a thoughtful lecture on “Goal setting” which inspired students to set their goal. A highly insightful and value based presentation on “Value Education” was given by Dr. Amrendra Kumar (IIT, BHU) which enriched students with ancient wisdom of Indian ideological belief. Lectures on “Relevance of Human Values in life” by I.D. Soni (former Dy. Director School Education Department), and “Blogging” by Arush Mahajan (CEO of via ENS, INR Deals) motivated students to give impetus to their creative pursuits.
Similarly sessions by Sandeep Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Dr. Rachita (Assistant Professor, UIAMS, PU Chandigarh), Dr. Rashu Sharma and Dr. GeetaLakhotra (Assistant Professors, GDC Samba), Dr. Rahul Kait (Sr. Assistant Prof. GGM Science College) on ‘Yog’, ‘How to manage stress’, ‘Discover yourself’, ‘Digital Ethics’, ‘Importance of communication skills and need of professional ethics in life’ and ‘Anthropogenic Impact on Ecosystem and Biodiversity’ respectively, enlightened the audiences on several important aspects of life
Likewise, lectures on Personality and Career Development, Design Thinking, Artificial Intelligence, Energy Resources, Role of Music and Sports in Personality Development, Startup Activities, Future of Engineering in India and Abroad delivered by experts were well acknowledged and admired by the students.
Faculty from the host college also holds sessions on “Emerging Trends in Cyber Security & Engineering” by Er. Neeraj Dubey, and “Life Skill Education for Sustainable Development” by Dr. Romika Sudan.
More than 250 students participated in the program.
