SCERT workshop on Module Dev for ECCE under NIPUN Bharat Mission commences

Jammu| : State Council for Education, Research and Training (SCERT), J&K Monday started five days workshop on Module Development for Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE) based on Vidyapravesh under the aegis of NIPUN (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy) BHARAT Mission, Ministry of Education, GoI.
The aim of the workshop is to achieve the objective of the mission which is to ensure that every child by grade III in the country necessarily attains Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) by 2026-27
The workshop is being organized by SCERT J&K, in collaboration with Jammu Kashmir Association of Social Workers and Technical Partner Eduweave Foundation and is supported by UNICEF.
The workshop was inaugurated by Surinder Kumar, Joint Director SCERT-JK Jammu Division in presence of Ashfaq Ahmed, Director JKASW and Amita Kaushik, Director Eduweave Foundation.
Speaking on the inaugural day, Joint Director, SCERT highlighted about the critical relevance of ECCE and play/activity based Vidyap Pravesh Module and hoped that workshop will prove instrumental for attainment of linguistic and cognitive skill development in the children.
While giving introduction and welcome address, coordinator of the workshop Deepak Sharma, explained that NCERT has developed guidelines for three-month Playbased School Preparation Module for Grade-I children called ‘VIDYA PRAVESH’ which is one of the significant components of NIPUN Bharat mission to achieve FLN. He added that this document addresses the developmental and learning needs of all children who enter Grade-I and who may or may not have any prior preschool experience.
The ccoordinator said that the purpose of this document is to facilitate teachers to make children’s entry in school education smooth, fearless and joyful. The workshop will be aimed at introducing the purpose and structure of Vidyapravesh to the participants, discuss key components of Vidyapravesh in detail with the participants, he added.
Teachers and teacher educators associated with ECCE from SCERT ,DIETs and schools of Jammu Division are participating in the workshop, the, who will be actively oriented about the purpose and structure of Vidyapravesh and involved in module development for ECCE based on Vidyapravesh.
