Reasi |: District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) Saturday approved 370 proposals under TEJASWINI scheme at its meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Charandeep Singh.
The committee held threadbare discussion on the implementation of Tejaswini scheme in the district meant for providing employment opportunities to the womenfolk by starting their income generating activities in manufacturing, service, trading or small scale sector.
Highlighting the importance of the scheme, Charandeep Singh said “TEJASWINI” scheme launched under Mission Youth aims to provide financial assistance to young women entrepreneurs for setting up profitable self-employment ventures suited to their skill and training aptitude. He said the purpose of the scheme is also to empower and encourage young women in the age group of 18 to 35.
The DC stressed upon Assistant Director Employment to screen the remaining applications and bring more progressive women entrepreneurs under the ambit of the scheme by disseminating mass awareness. He called for bringing more and more aspiring women entrepreneurs under the ambit of the scheme.
Pertinently, the beneficiaries under the TEJASWINI scheme under Mission Youth are provided financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh under the age group of 18 to 35 years to start their business. The beneficiaries will be provided 10% of the project cost by Mission Youth.
Among others, the meeting was attended by CPO Sunita Kanchan, GM DIC Gurdev, DSWO Gulshan Kumar, LDM Habib Ullaha, AD Employment Naresh and officers from other concerned departments.
