DC Anantnag holds public grievance redressal camps at Siligam, Hapatnard

Anantnag : Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr Piyush Singla Saturday held two public darbars at Siligam and Hapatnard in Pahalgam Sub Division Saturday. The public grievance redressal camps were organized as part of Good Governance Week which is being observed to celebrate 75 years of independence, Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav
A public darbar was held at Panchayat Ghar, Siligam. The public representatives demanded enhancement in the quota of PMAY houses sanctioned. They demanded that a playfield be developed in the panchayat. They also requested the DC that Siligam WSS be completed at the earliest so that round the clock water supply is available. They demanded that a receiving station be sanctioned for the area, enhancement of the labour budget under MGNREGA, reduction in curtailment of power supply, etc. Youth club members put forth demands related to drainage facilities, augmentation of power supply and development of playfield. The public lauded the district administration for timely disbursal of relief on the SUKOON platform through which a beneficiary was provided relief in 7 days.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that demands related to power supply will be addressed on priority. He said that several works are being executed in the panchayat under the District CAPEX plan and asked the people to actively participate in the development process and conduct social audits of developmental works to ensure quality. He pressed for metering of the electric network and appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration in this regard. He emphasized that even though 100% COVID vaccination has been achieved in the district, people should adhere to COVID Appropriate behavior so that a probable third wave can be averted.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the public about the Apki Zameen Apki Nigrani portal and encouraged them to view their revenue records through the portal. He directed the Tehsildar to ensure prompt disbursal of any grievances in this regard. Dr Singla said that the government is digitizing public delivery of services and people must avail the benefits of digital initiatives.
ACD Anantnag said that the process for augmentation of the labour budget has already been taken up. He said that work for development of the playfield will commence shortly.
The public Darbar was attended by PRI members, officials and a large gathering of people.
The Deputy Commissioner held another public darbar at Govt High School Hapatnard. Various delegations put forth several demands including enhancement of facilities at PHC Hapatnard, round the clock water supply to households, upgradation of infrastructure and augmentation of staff at GHS Hapatnard, development of playfield for school students, banking facilities, filtration of APL/BPL ration card beneficiaries, development of tourist infrastructure.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that a playground will be developed in the area and the process will start within a week. He said that the district administration has already taken steps for enhancing the labour budget. He further expressed his satisfaction that while in prevoous years the budget was utilized towards the fag end of the year, this year most if the budget has been utilized in the first 9 months an meaningful employment provided to thousands of households in the district.
He said that far flung areas are a special priority with regards to development and district administration is making all efforts to provide doorstep governance. He also directed H&FW deptt to ensure saturation under PM SEHAT and ensure that all inhabitants have a golden card. He said that under Har Ghar Nal Se Jal abhiyan, the Govt aims to provide tap water to every household.
In between the camps, the Deputy Commissioner inspected several development works being undertaken by RDD in Khoveripora block. He inspected an irrigation drain, road, protection walls around kulls and fencing around Gurduwara. DC inquired about budget utilization under MGNREGA in the block and was informed that most of the labor budget for the year has already been utilized. He also emphasized the need to protect kulls and irrigation channels from encroachment and directed the local officials to take necessary steps in this regard.
The Deputy Commissioner met 4 delegations enroute to Hapatnad in various roadside villages. He gave a patient hearing to the demands of the people and directed local officials to take remedial measures immediately.
The Deputy Commissioner visited the house of a person in Khoveripora whose cow shed had been damaged and several livestock animals killed during a leopard attack on the previous night. Taking immediate steps for redressal, R&B deptt was directed to prepare a damage assessment report and the person was assured that relief will be provided in less than a week.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by ADDC Anantnag, CPO, ACD, SDM Pahalgam, CMO, CEO, Executive Engineers from PHE and R&B, AD Food and other senior officials
