2 arrested for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Budgam, 12 vehicles also seized: Police

B’gam| Dec, 18: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested 12 persons & seized 12 vehicles involved in illegal excavation & transportation of minerals.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that a police party of Police Post Soibugh at a checkpoint established at Main Chowk Soibugh intercepted & seized 12 tippers bearing registration numbers JKO1AJ-3341, JK04B-1587, JK01K-1749, JK02AD-8247, JK01R-6744, JK02X-9359, JK04A-4016, JK01F-9165, JK01F-9413, JK03B-9901, JK01V-5525 & JK01AB-4616.
Police in it’s statement also said said that twelve (12) persons were arrested and identified as Amir Ashraf Malla resident of Shilwat, Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh resident of Tengpora, Tariq Ahmad Bhat resident of Hajjibagh, Ishfaq Ahmad Dar resident of Cheewa, Imran Hussain Dar resident of HMT, Waseem Rashid Khan resident of Parimpora, Abid Hussain Mir resident of Bemina, Mehraaj Din Sofi resident of Hajji Bagh, Showkat Ahmad Shah resident of Hajji Bagh, Arif Hussain Wani resident of Beerwah, Ajaz Ahmad Dar resident of Tengpora and Ishfaaq Ahmad Khan resident of Gariend Kalan involved in the commission of crime.
Stating that a case vide FIR number 361/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation was initiated, police in it’s statement appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities as it is the violation of Government rules. Police in it’s statement also warned people that those found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and urged them to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
