Kishtwar |: As part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebration, Indian Army Thursday organised a series of events to commemorate 50 years of India’s victory in Indo-Pak War of 1971.
The day witnessed screening of documentary for school children and war veterans of 1971 War, felicitation of Veer Naris/Veer Matas, Memento distribution to all war veterans of 1971 War, Vehicles, Weapon and Equipment display for all attendees.
The aim was to familiarize the youth with the glorious past of the Indian Army, sacrifice of our brave hearts and motivate them to join the Defence Services. Such events will surely motivate the youth to look beyond the orthodox thoughts and induce feelings of Patriotism in the youth. A total of 26 War veterans of 1971 War, 02 Veer Naris, 02 Veer Matas and 200 Children attended the event.
The youth thanked the Army for organizing an event of such magnitude. The occasion culminated with youth showing their love for the Nation and Indian Army by shouting slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”and Bhartiya Sena Ki Jai”.
