17 Fisherman to get finance assistance for construction of houses

Kupwara |: Fisheries Department Kupwara Friday organized a draw of lots event here at DC office Kupwara in presence of all members of District Level Committee for holding draw of Lots.
The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din presided over the function.
The purpose of holding the draw of lots was to provide financial assistance for construction of residential houses in favor of the fishermen community in a transparent manner in the district.
As many as 18 shortlisted fishermen from Karnah, Kupwara, Handwara and Langate constituencies’ participated in the event and 17 fishermen were selected for the benefit of financial assistance.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officer to start the work of construction of these houses and ensure timely completion so that the deserving beneficiaries could be benefitted.
Assistant Director Fisheries, Sajad Hussain Dar, on the occasion said that these 17 beneficiaries will be covered for construction of Low Cost Housing Scheme under Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) PMMSY adding that the quota was for the year 2021-22. Assistant Commissioner Development, Mehraj-u-din, was also present at the occasion.
