Reasi: 8 yr old issue of 2 KM Upper Pai Canal resolved at Block Diwas meeting in Kotli Panchayat

Reasi | : District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi Charandeep Singh, accompanied by district officers of line departments, Wednesday chaired the weekly Block Divas meeting here at Panchayat Kotli Manotrian.
BDC Chairman Reasi, DDC Member Katra, SDM Katra, ACD, CMO, CEO, AD Food, CHO, CAO and several other district officers, block level officers and PRI members attended the block divas meeting.
At the outset, two minutes of silence was observed to pay homage to Martyr Shafeeq Ahmed.
The locals raised several issues and demanded augmentation of power infrastructure, completion of Julla road under PMGSY, measures to address water shortage in Bhaga and Saldi, new sub center for Kainka Dabar and Ward-5 of Kotli Manotrian-B, installation of Hand Pumps, repair of canals damaged due to railways work, new road for Baba Dhansar, execution of tendered works on war footing etc.
The DDC sought department wise response for all the issues raised during Block Divas in the presence of PRI members and resolved several grievances on the spot in face-to-face discussion with district officers.
On the occasion, eight year long issue of Upper Pai Canal, construction of boundary walls in the school and functioning of a Government school at Paranakote were also resolved for which concerned departments agreed to take action after checking feasibility status.
Half of the population of Kotli village depends on Upper Pai Canal the work of which was pending for eight years and with the intervention of the DC, the concerned department agreed to execute the work in two days.
The DDC stressed on officers for early redress for all public issues and also asked them to be sensitive and responsible while undertaking new schemes and construction works in the villages. He asked them to cover all eligible beneficiaries under schemes of the government.
Speaking on the occasion, the BDC Chairperson and DDC Member also urged for providing all basic facilities to the areas of Kolti, Bhaga, Karau, Pai, Dhansar and Upper belts of this region. They asked the officers to complete all pending works in the areas.
