Anantnag : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and also recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that Police Station Srigufwara on receiving a specific information about one person namely Sajad Ahmad Raina son in law of Mohd Afzal resident of Khiram Srigufwara having indulged in drug peddling and hoarding a large quantity of narcotic substances in his residential house sent a search team headed by SHO PS Srigufwara alongwith Executive Magistrate concerned which raided the said location.
Stating that during searches the said team recovered about 10Kgs of Charas Chura and 1.4Kgs of Charas powder, police in it’s statement further said that the accused person was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement also said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is in progress, police in it’s statement said that actions against drug peddlers are consistently taken to reassure the people that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
