DC Budgam reviews registration of unorganized workers on National Database NDUW-e-SHRAM portal

Stress laid on achieving target in time bound manner.

Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the registration of unorganized workers on National Database for Unorganized Workers (NDUW)-e-SHRAM portal.
The meeting among others was attended by ACP, ALC, CAO, CAHO, EOs of Municipal Committees, Project Officer, NRLM, District level president/ secretary of all the unions and others concerned.
The chair was informed that as many as 1.15 lac unorganized workers have been registered across the district so far out of the target of 4 lac workers.
At the outset, DC emphasized on expediting of the registration process to achieve the target in a stipulated time frame.
He directed concerned to organize block level awareness camps with PRIs for self registration persuasion besides setting up of facilitation centers with requisite staff and equipments in place in all towns of the district for achieving tangible results.
The registered unorganized workers belong to different categories which include ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers & Helpers, Auto Drivers/cleaners, Street Vendors, Small Shopkeepers, Cobblers, Carpenters, Milkmen, Domestic workers etc.
On the occasion, the DC directed the officers of all the departments to register the daily wagers associated with their respective departments on e-Shram portal including that of Asha workers, Anganwari workers, Drivers/ Cleaners etc.
The DDC further fixed targets of concerned department for registration of workers on the portal for next 15 days period and directed them to assert with full dedication to achieve the targets.
E- Shram portal has been launched by the Govt of India for registration of unorganized workers free of cost by themselves or through Common Services Centers. The registration will enable unorganized workers to avail various social security schemes. The unorganized workers within age group 16 to 59 years registered on the portal shall be eligible to get automatic 2 lakh accidental insurance and 1 lakh insurance on partial disability.
