Chairman DDC Jammu reviews achievements under Rural Dev sector

Jammu : Chairman District Development Council Jammu, Bharat Bhushan, in presence of Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Rural Development Department here at DC Office Jammu.
Vice Chairman, Suraj Singh, Members of District Development Council Jammu were also present in the meeting.
The concerned authorities of the Rural Development Department gave a PowerPoint presentation on the present status of different works taken up under DDC, BDC and PRI grants of District Capex Budget 2021-22 and status of B2V-III works.
While taking review of schemes and works, the Chairman asked officers to formulate the annual action plans as per the guidelines. He asked the department to complete maximum works to provide benefits to the common people.
The Chairman also instructed the officers to ensure proper monitoring and execution of works of RDD schemes, works like PMAY, MGNREGA etc at Block and Panchayat level and the same should be visible on the ground.
Meanwhile, the DDC members also highlighted the developmental requirement in their respective areas . They called for installation of hand pumps, water pipes, replacement of damaged poles and wires, completion of Panchayat Ghars, release of payments to PMAY beneficiaries, speeding up of tendering process for timely start of works, payment of MGNREGA wages and other issues.
The Deputy Commissioner also briefed the meeting about the achievements recorded under the RDD sector in respect of the District Capex Budget. He directed the concerned Officers and executive wings to expedite the process for early completion of all ongoing works in different areas. He also directed the concerned authorities to resolve the bottlenecks, if any.
The Chairman further asked for chalking out effective plans and to set priorities under various schemes of the Rural Development Department. He asked the officers to closely monitor developmental activities in rural areas so as to improve the living standards of poor people.
Later, the District Administration Jammu also distributed Laptops alongwith printers to Chairman, Vice chairman and the members of DDC Jammu for maintaining and doing their day to day developmental activities.
Assistant Commissioner (D), Ashok Kumar; Chief Planning Officer, Yoginder Katoch; Assistant Commissioner, Panchayat Jammu, Meenakshi Vaid; SE, JPDCL, Rajinder Gupta; Block Development Officers, Engineers of different wings besides other officers were also present in the meeting.
