MVD Reasi recovers Rs 1.05 lakh fine from traffic, SoP violators

Reasi | : Acting tough on complaints of overcharging of fare & overloading in Taxi/Maxi cabs, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Reasi, Rajesh Gupta along with his team conducted extensive checking of vehicles from Katra to Domail here on Saturday.
During the inspection Rajesh Gupta enquired from passengers about the fare being charged and also held a meeting with Drivers, public and their elected representatives to sort out the issues regarding the transport in their respective areas.
He assured the public that strict action as warranted under norms of the Motor Vehicles Act shall be initiated against the offenders.
During the checking, the team challaned 18 Vehicles for violation of MVA, 96 vehicles for other violations and recovered an amount of Rs.105000 .
The ARTO also sensitised the drivers about MVA norms, COVID-19 SOPs and urged upon them to follow guidelines to ensure their safety against deadly virus as well as well being of others.
