Pulwama| : Director, Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar Thursday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of RDD schemes in Srinagar district.
Status of flagship programmes including MGNREGA, PMAY-G and 14th FCA besides progress of works under the Capex Budget (CD & Pyt Sector) were reviewed in detail.
It was informed that against the target of 76000 person-days set for ending December 2021, 51000 person-days have been generated till date. Moreover, 100 percent MGNREGA Wages are being released in time among the MGNREGA Job Card Holders and till date Rs 108.62 Lakh have been paid as wage component besides 100 percent geo-tagging of assets 99 percent Aadhaar Seeding of Job Card Holders is complete.
Moreover, 100 percent of the target has been achieved under PMAY-G. Against the target of 22 housing units, all have been completed in time.
Director, RDD Kashmir stressed on timely completion of all taken up works and underscored the need to hold regular Gram Sabhas with active involvement of PRIs in the developmental activities in each Panchayat besides making the general public aware about the guidelines and benefits of the RDD Schemes under implementation.
ACD Srinagar, ACP Srinagar, DD Planning RDD Kashmir, DPO Srinagar, Executive Engineer (REW) Srinagar, BDOs and other officers were present in the meeting.
The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Pulwama, Dr Sheikh Ab Aziz inaugurated the installation of Solar Power Agriculture Pump under (PM-KUSUM) scheme for upliftment of farmers at District Administrative Complex, here.
The ADDC emphasized on the importance of the PM-KUSUM scheme for the farmers, providing them a day-time reliable source of power for irrigation activities and also increasing their income. He also stressed upon wide publicity and awareness of the PM-KUSUM scheme so that every farmer knows the provisions and benefits under the Scheme.
The PM-KUSUM scheme, which would help in reducing the electricity subsidy, being given for the agriculture sector, to a large extent, he assured that all possible support will be provided in implementation of this scheme.
He stated that the joint efforts of Central and JK UT would help in successful implementation of these schemes and achieving the renewable energy targets. Cost effective with 80 percent subsidy from the government and free of cost maintenance of solar pumps for five years.
The ADDC said the Solar Water pump will address a significant market, and help increase crop yield by delivering reliable irrigation without dependence on expensive diesel fuel or intermittent electrical power supply”.
The Solar pumps, intended for use in rural environments, feature rugged structural design and are available in 2 HP, 3HP , 5HP, 7.5HP and 10HP variants, he said.
ADDC said that the scheme is aimed to increase farmers’ income, provide a reliable source for irrigation and to de-dieselize the farm sector to remove farmers’ dependence on diesel and to link irrigation pumps with solar energy.
Among others, the programme was attended by Regional officer JAKEDA, Rabia Noor, Executive Engineer JAKEDA, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Chief Horticulture Officer, Block Development Officer, Engineers from JAKEDA, besides farmers.
Later, the Additional District Development Commissioner distributed the sanction letters among the selected beneficiaries.
