4 drug Peddlers arrested in Sopore, Psychotropic substance recovered: Police

B’la |: Police on Friday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers in Sopore and also recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
In a statement issued on Friday police said that following inputs about drug trade, a special team led by SHO PS Dangiwacha under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad established a checkpoint at Ladoora crossing and intercepted four persons identified as Muhammad Ramzan Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Ladoora Rafiabad, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Muhammad Sultan Sheikh & Umer Yousuf son of Mohd yousuf Lone both residents of Nadihal Rafiabad and Farooq Ahmad Ambar son of Ghulam Nabi Ambar resident of Tarzoo Amberpora.
Stating that during checking, officers recovered 1008 banned capsules from the possession of the above named accused who were arrested and shifted to Police station where they remain in custody, police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 195/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation also has been subsequently initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and cultivation of the contrabands in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling or cultivation will be dealt as per law.
