Weekly Block Diwas: DC Ramban listens to public grievances at Khari; resolves most of issues on spot

Ramban : District Administration Ramban Wednesday organized the Weekly Block Diwas meeting in different blocks where the teams off officers listen and resolve local issues of common people at their door steps.
Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam along with Chairperson, BDC, Sajad Ahmed; DDC Councilor, Gulshan Praveen; DDC, Fayaz Ahmed Naik; SDM Banihal, Zaheer Abbas Bhat; ACD, Zameer Rishu; CMO Dr. Fareed Bhat and other senior officers of different departments attended the Block Diwas at Khari.
Responding to the issues of scarcity of potable water supply, the DC informed that 88 water supply schemes involving Rs. 286 Crore have been taken up by the Jal Shakti Department under Jal Jeevan Mission to provide functional tap water connections to 58% uncovered households of the district. Seven water supply schemes are being executed by the department in Khari to meet the requirement of drinking water in the area, the DC added.
The DC said the JPDCL has targeted to replace wooden poles with steel poles in 40 Panchayats to strengthen the power supply system in the district and the Khari area will also be covered under ongoing first phase. He advised the people to utilize power judiciously and regularize their connections to get quality power supply in the winter season.
The DC directed all executing departments, especially Rural Development Department to ensure 70% execution of developmental works sanctioned under area development fund of DDC, BDC and panchayats by the end of December. He said it will help in achieving 100% physical and financial targets before the end of current fiscal.
The DC also impressed upon public representatives and members of youth clubs to actively participate in implementation of beneficiary and youth oriented schemes like MUMKIN, Tejswani, Tourist Village Network, Skill Development, SAHYTA, AVSAR, PARVAAZ and promotion of Youth Clubs.
The DC directed ALC and AD employment to conduct career counseling sessions in the educational institutions of Khari.
Meanwhile, the DC also visited PHC Khari to review the functioning of the Health institutions. He enquired about medical facilities available and directed the CMO, Ramban to prepare a proposal to construct a new PHC building in the area.
Earlier, PRIs and locals highlighted their issues and demanded construction of Seran to Kundan road, Bawa to Mangit road, Bawa to Akhran road, foot bridge over Khari nallah, foot bridge on Bawa nallah, transformer and poles for Shagan Panchayat, completion of PHC Mangit, adequate staff in schools and health institutions, commissioning of receiving station at Khari, installation of Street lights, , payments of PMAY, advance dumping of ration, completion of PHC Trigam, better mobile network in Saranchi, placement of doctor in AYUSH Dispensaries, public library at Khari, Girls hostel for Khari, SRTC bus service from Khari to Banihal, playground for Khari, fire tender and opening of Bank branch in Mahu-Mangit.
The DC resolved most of the issues on the spot and assured their genuine issues will be addressed in a time frame manner.
