Poonch : The Education department Wednesday started a massive enrolment drive here in Sawjian sector here under the supervision of Principal Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian, Anwar Khan.
The launch of the drive was marked by an awareness rally comprising 250 students, teachers and people from different walks of life. The rally was taken out to motivate the people to send their wards to government schools.
The public of the area was counselled about the various flagship programmes of the Education Department.
The teams of well qualified Lecturers, teachers and Masters, under the guidance of cluster head Higher Secondary School Sawjian informed the masses regarding various facilities offered by the government schools with the availability of highly qualified teachers.
Such awareness programmes are being conducted not only to lure the drop-outs, the out-of-school children but also those students who opt for private schools considering the government schools as less of an option.
The rally was taken out from Govt Middle School Maidan which culminated at Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian. En-route a large gathering of public was addressed at Bus stand Sawjian where Anwar Khan, Principal Higher Secondary School Sawjian told the people about the benefits of Education and facilities being provided in Govt schools.
In this enrolment drive teachers and students of more than 25 schools of the area participated.
Others who addressed people included Mehraj Khalid, Saleem Rishi, Parampreet Singh, Khalid Mehmood Khan, Sarfraz Ahmad and Ch Khadam Hussain.
