Budgam: Taking law into his own hands the proprietor of Vision Public School Humhama on Tuesday unsealed the school building hours after it was sealed by the authorities of district administration Budgam. Instead of taking action against the unlawful action of the school proprietor the district administration has not even registered formally a case against the school proprietor for his unlawful action.
Top sources in the School Education Department told “Kashmir Horizon” that the school was closed after building from which it is operated was declared unsafe by the R&B (Public Works) Department but unmindful of the government action the school proprietor continued functioning of the school from the unsafe building. Sources also said that the school proprietor also invited application for the fresh admissions in the school and conducted the recently held 8th class examination in the unsafe building. Though Chief Education Officer Budgam under mounting public pressure deputed a team to the schools for sealing it off but the school proprietor after sealing the school unsealed the unsafe building without proper permission from the competent authorities. When this correspondent visited the school for spot verification the School Principal and other staff members were working in the school as usual. Allegations are galore that an employee of the Accountant General’s Office Kashmir is running the said school by proxy in the name of his father and is also engaged in a dispute over the payment of rent dues with the house owner of the school building since declared unsafe by the R&B (Public Works) Department Kashmir . Attempts to reach out to Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) as he did not respond to the repeated calls from “Kashmir Horizon” office. However Chief Education Officer Budgam said “ we have sealed the school for the safety of the children and school will have to face stringent action for any violation of the order issued by the School Education Department.
