Kulgam : Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) Tuesday distributed sanction letters among beneficiaries for installation of solar backed irrigation water pumps during a function held at Town Hall, Kulgam.
These sanction letters were distributed among the beneficiaries by Additional District Development Commissioner, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi in presence of Dy-CEO JAKEDA, Muzaffar Ahmad Malik and Regional officer JAKEDA, Rabia Noor.
Dy-CEO, JAKEDA informed that the scheme is aimed to increase farmers’ income, provide a reliable source for irrigation and to de-dieselize the farm sector to remove farmers’ dependence on diesel and to link irrigation pumps with solar energy.
The Programme was also attended by CAO, Farooq Ahmad; CHO, Dr.M.Iqbal Baba; DAO, Dawood Ahmad; Senior Engineers from JAKEDA, Er. Ashaq Hussain Malik and Er. M Yusuf Bhat.
