Drug peddler along with huge quantity of contraband substances recovered in Ang: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and also recovered huge quantity of contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police “Police Station Bijbehara received a specific information through reliable sources where it was mentioned that one person namely Ishfaq Hussain Malik son of Mohd Hussain Mailk resident of Arwani Bijbehara has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house”.
Stating that on receipt of this information, a Police party under the supervision of SDPO Bijbehara along with Executive Magistrate raided the specific location, police in it’s statement further said that during searches 53Kgs of Fukki and 1.2Kg of Charas Chura were recovered from a 7 feet deep pit located in the kitchen garden of the said house following which the accused was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in the concluding para of above quoted statement said that while a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Bijbehara and further investigation has been initiated, the people are appealed to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and those found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police also said that it’s consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
