Div Com(K) highlights role of Armed forces, interacts with veterans

Srinagar : The Armed Forces Flag Day Programme was Tuesday held at Sainik Bhawan, Srinagar to honour the martyrs and men in uniform who voluntarily fought and continue to safeguard the country’s honour.
The programme was attended by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Pandurang K. Pole; Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also President Sainik Board, Srinagar and GOC 31 Sub Area among other senior govt officials.
Speaking on the Occasion, Div Com highlighted the role of Sainiks and called them guardians of the Nation who protect its citizens.
During the interaction with the veterans the Div Com and DC Srinagar assured all support from the civil administration towards welfare of Ex-Servicemen and their families. Meanwhile, Ex-Servicemen community thanked Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar; HQ 15 Corps, HQ 31 Sub Area, JAK LI Regimental Centre (JAK LI RC) for their initiatives taken for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen Community
The AFFD is celebrated across the country on December 07 to honour the martyrs and men in uniform who voluntarily fought and continue to safeguard the country’s honour. Soldiers are one of the greatest assets of any country. They are guardians of the country and protect its citizens. To fulfill their duties soldiers sacrifice a lot of things in their lives. It therefore becomes the duty of every citizen to not only show admiration for those sacrificing their live for the country and the living heroes but also their families who have been a crucial part of their sacrifice.
Apart from Govt. measures it becomes the collective duty of every citizen to make his/her unstinted and volunteer contribution towards providing care support rehabilitation and financial aid.
Small flags are distributed on this day in return for donations. ‘Flag Day’ brings to the forefront our commitment of looking after our Veer Naris, disabled soldiers and families of martyrs.
A blood donation camp was also held at Sainik Bhawan (Srinagar) where No of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their wards have donated the blood for the needy people. Rally was also taken from Sainik Bhawan to Jahangir Chowk for awareness COVID-19 Pandemic.
