DC Srinagar reviews progress under District Capex Plan 2021-22

Srinagar : To review the physical and financial status of the works taken up under District Capex Plan, 2021-22 and to accelerate the pace of developmental works, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad chaired a meeting of all Sectoral/District Officers at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex here on Tuesday.
On the occasion, the sector wise status and details of the physical targets achieved till date was put forth before the Chairman by the Chief Planning Officer.
The meeting was informed that out of total District Capex of Rs 126.69 crore an amount of Rs 42 crore have been released till date about 40 percent expenditure of allocated capex has been made. Moreover district officers said that works are in progress and further expenditure shall be incurred based on actual work execution.
The DDC took a sector wise detailed review of all works and directed the officers to ensure 75 percent expenditure by the end of December, 2021 under PHE, PDD, R&B, Education, Health, MGNREGA, PMGSY, NRLM, Fisheries Handicrafts, YSS, Labour, Social Welfare, ICDS and other sectors, besides under DDC, BDC and PRI grants.
The DDC directed the officers to work in coordinated manner with line departments to achieve development goals well in time keeping in view the limited working season. He stressed on authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of ongoing works for their time-bound completion.
He cautioned that any kind of laxity in completing the works within the fixed timeline will not be tolerated at all. He also exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for completing the projects in stipulated time frame besides urged to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.
While reviewing the progress of works under the RDD sector, the DDC asked the concerned officers to expedite the process of PMAY cases in their respective blocks so that all eligible persons are entitled to the benefits under the scheme.
Taking serious note of poor performance shown by some departments, the DDC asked them to improve their performance. He cautioned them that if they fail to improve performance, shall be dealt strictly as per law.
The DDC asked the Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar to conduct periodical review of the RDD sector so that set targets are achieved within stipulated time.
He also asked the Officers to take strict action against the contractors who unnecessarily create hurdles and delay the developmental works by not fulfilling the formalities after allotment of works or do not complete the works despite issuing notices. He directed to blacklist such contractors from execution of any kind of work in the Block.
Besides, the Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Gulzar Ahmad meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, District Programme Officer/ICDS, Superintendent Engineers of R&B, PDD, PHE, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, District Panchayat Officer and other District Officers Engineers were present in the meeting.
