New Delhi : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Member of Parliament from Anantnag (Retd) Justice Hasnain Masoodi on Monday raised a myriad of issues during zero hour in the Lok Sabha.
Masoodi asked the government whether Tribal Advisory Councils have been set up in Jammu and Kashmir to help our tribal people to be part of development. He also brought the problem of payment of less than Minimum Wages to 61,000 casual workers to the notice of government and demanded the implementation of minimum wages act in Jammu and Kashmir.
He also asked the government to devise a regularisation scheme for thousands of daily wagers, contractual and hospital Development Fund, College Development Fund, and Local Bodies employees, who he maintained have been suffering on account of pay anomalies for years altogether.
Masoodi also called for enhancement in the disability pension to 5 thousand so that the beneficiaries are able to meet both the end of their life in wake of the escalation of prices of food items and other indispensable household items.
He also paid rich tributes to Baba Saheb Ambedkar and reminded the house that he gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir which was unconstitutionally taken away by this government and that Article did not allow division of State. He asked the government to revoke its unilateral, and unconstitutional decisions of 5 August 2019.
Expressing deep condolences with the victims of Nagaland massacre, he assured them that 1.25 crore people of JK understood their pain as they are going through the same pain. Referring to the civilian killings at Hyderpora, Rambagh, Lawaypora, Wachi, Shopian and Anantnag, he said the victim families are waiting for a probe. He asked the government to expedite the probe.
