DIC Jammu holds series of camps to promote self employment schemes among border youth

Jammu : District Industries Centre Jammu held a series of awareness camps to encourage border youth to avail self employment schemes.
The camps were held from November 30 to December 5, 2021 at Village Pindi of Block Pargwal, Village Kanachak & Village Sandwan of Block Marh and Village Abdullian of Block RS Pura, Jammu with the active participations of public representatives of the border areas including Chairman BDCs, Sarpanches and Panches.
The DIC team led by General Manager, Subah Mehta conducted extensive tours of the border villages to conduct the seminars and camps.
Around 100-150 people attended each camp and they were made aware about the “Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP] under which the un-employed youth can avail the credit linked subsidized loans by starting their ventures under the Manufacturing and Service Sectors.
The GM highlighted that loans Rs 10.00 lakh and up to Rs. 25.00 lakh can be availed under the service and manufacturing sector where under the margin (subsidy) ranging from 15% to 35% is being provided. The applicant of minimum 18 year age can apply under this scheme. Moreover, the beneficiary under this scheme becomes eligible for expansion of previous PMEGP unit for upto Rs. 25 lacs in Service Sector and upto Rs. 1.00 Crore in Manufacturing Sector after adjustment of Margin Money claim (subsidy) and repayment of first loan within stipulated time.
She further highlighted the objectives of the scheme, eligibility criteria in detail. She said the applicant / candidate shall be minimum 18 years age and 8th standard pass for which the minimum documents required under the scheme are Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport Size Photographs- 2 Nos., Detailed Project Report (DPR), Highest education Qualification Certificate, Rural Area Certificate – attested by Sarpanch (in case of Rural Area Units) and Category Certificate-SC/ST/OBC/ Handicapped / Ex-serviceman (if any).
