Anantnag : The District Anantnag has covered more than 50000 households under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ programme going on in the district with full vigour since the last month.
‘Har Ghar Dastak’ is an initiative of the government aimed at educating people at their doorsteps about COVID Appropriate Behaviour. Under the initiative, any person who had been left unvaccinated is also being covered.
Chief Medical Officer Anantnag, Dr Mukhtar said frontline workers from the department have been diligently travelling the length and breadth of the district covering every household. He said the teams are counseling people on the efficacy of masks in preventing them against COVID-19, the importance of practicing social distancing and washing their hands with soap regularly.
He said the District has been focused on maximising the registration under the PM SEHAT scheme. He said under the ambit of ‘One Person One Golden Card’, awareness camps are being conducted in the district to ensure 100 percent registrations.
Dr Mukhtar added that block wise performance in this regard is being regularly reviewed by Deputy Commissioner Dr Piyush Singla and in the coming month, they will have covered a major chunk of the population. He said already more than 50 percent of the population has been covered.
The CMO also informed that 100 percent vaccination has been completed in the district and a total of 1.3 million doses have been administered. He said 89000 vaccine doses are available in the district and any person who has not been inoculated is being covered under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ initiative.
