Srinagar/ Dec,6 : Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) Aijaz Ahmad Khan has strongly condemned the publishing of “blasphemous material” in a history book of 7th class and furthermore demanded not only banning but blacklisting of the publisher even after offering an apology for the unpardonable act.
In a statement issued here on Monday the Khan said that the publishing of such a highly objectionable material in the books taught in schools shows the insensitivity of the concerned authorities of J&K BOSE on issues relating to issue of faith and religion. He said the highly objectionable act of the irresponsible publisher has hurt the sentiments of millions of the followers of Islam all over the world and added that the act is in no case acceptable and tolerable as well.
Khan while demanding a probe into the matter questioned that how come the material was distributed among schools without a review by the concerned authorities and as such the guilty deserve stringent puishment. He Rather however hailed Board of School Education for banning the book and subsequent withdrawing said book (7th class History and Civics) from all schools and added that authorities should make it sure that the book is not taught or preserved in any government or private educational institution.
Calling for a legal action against the publisher JAY CEE PUBLISHING HOUSE for the grave mistake and display of insensitivity towards a highly sensitive issue, despite it’s public apology, Khan said that authorities should make it sure that such controversial material is not published and distributed in future and publisher JAY CEE PUBLISHING HOUSE should be not only banned but also blacklisted once for ever so that such irresponsible acts don’t occur and re-occur again and again .
