Agriculture deptt organises awareness prog on World Soil Day

Doda: An impressive function was today organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Doda to mark World Soil day.
The function was organised under the overall supervision of Director Agriculture Jammu, K K Sharma and under the guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer, Anil Gupta. The theme for this year’s Soil day is “Halt Soil Salinization, boost Soil productivity.”
District Agriculture Officer, Haroon Hussain who is also the Nodal officer of Soil Health Scheme delivered the introductory speech. He elaborated the aims and objectives of the programme to the participants.
Assistant Soil Chemist, STL Doda, Zareena Akhtar delivered the expert lecture and gave an overview of the Scheme. She also elaborated the concepts of Soil Science and advised the farmers to test the Soil of their land to know the nutrient requirement of the soil for better produce.
