Srinagar: Chairman People’s Democratic Front ( PDF ) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has expressed concern over the reports about trafficking of Covid -19 orphans outside the state and has demanded stern action against the fake NGO involved in the shameful inhuman act.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Hakeem while expressing serious concern over the reports about sale of Covid orphans of Kashmir by a local NGO, has urged the government to undertake comprehensive scrutiny of various NGOs working in Jammu and Kashmir and take stern action against those organizations found involved in unscrupulous acts . He said all non registered NGOs should be closed down immediately and only genuine voluntary organisations allowed to work . He has urged the government to device an integrated surveillance mechanism to wach and cross check the report card of each NGO so that judicious use of funds and donations was ensured.
” It was most unfortunate that mushrooming growth of fake NGOs and unscrupulous trusts was taking place in Kashmir who’s actions have brought bad name to the society ,” Hakeem said while urging the government and civil society to monitor functioning of each NGO. While hailing police action against the culprits involved in running the racket, Hakeem urged the government to bring more improvement in the implementation of various child protection services. He has urged the government to trace out all missing orphans from Kashmir.
