Active LeT militant arrested in Budgam, arms & ammunition recovered : Police

Kulgam : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested an active militant during a cordon and search operation along with the security forces Central Kashmir’s Budgam district and also recovered arms & ammunition from his possession.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that on a specific input regarding movement of militants in Poshkar area of Budgam, Police alongwith 62RR/2RR & 79Bn CRPF launched a joint cordon and search operation in the area and during the search operation the joint team arrested an active militant linked with the militant outfit LeT. He has been identified as Ab Hameed Nath resident of Pethzanigam Beerwah, Budgam.
Stating that Incriminating materials including a pistol , one magazine, 05 pistol rounds and 01 Chinese grenade were recovered from the possession of the above named accused , police in it’s statement further said that as per police records, the said militant was active since Feb 2021 and also said that a case under relevant sections of law stands registered against him in Police Station and investigation has been initiated.
