Ang : T In a first, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla Friday held a joint interaction with young aspiring loanees under PMEGP and representatives of various banks to take case by case review on various cases which were pending for sanction for a prolonged period and passed directions for speedy disposal of those cases.
Interacting with the youth at the meeting, the DC emphasized that the purpose of convening this special meeting is twofold – to sensitize the youth about various credit facilitation schemes being run by the government and to streamline the implementation of these schemes on ground by reviewing reasons for prolonged processing. Many youth put forth suggestions for making the process of securing a loan under such schemes more consumer friendly and robust.
Dr Singla said that there is no scope for any delays in sanctioning of eligible cases. He said that the documentation required for the schemes is available on public forum and as such the cases must be disbursed in a time bound manner.
The DC directed the heads of various banks to sensitize their employees regarding processing of these cases in a time bound manner. He said that credit facilitation is one of the most important functions of banks and any bank who has a lenient approach in this regard shall be taken to task. He said that there is zero tolerance for corruption in disbursal of benefits to public.
Interacting with the youth, Dr Singla counselled them on the benefits of these schemes and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in the creation of income and employment. He said that the youth must utilize the beneficial schemes to setup sustainable business ventures.
The DC said that the govt through BeRozgar Se Swarozgar yojana is committed to kindle the entrepreneurial spirit among the youth and consumer friendly avenues are being setup. The District has already identified 2000 unemployed youth under the initiative and the process of sanctioning loans is underway.
The meeting was attended by ADC, CPO, ACR, LDM, various bank heads besides several aspiring youth.
