Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has busted a militant module of LeT(TRF) militant outfit by arresting three militant associates involved in Palhallan Grenade attack.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that J&K police sleuths along with 29RR and SSB 2nd Bn established a joint MVCP/naka at Wussan Pattan and intercepted three suspicious individuals who tried to flee from the spot after watching the joint naka party but were tactfully apprehended by the alert party and were identified as Asif Ahmad Reshi son of Nissar Ahmad Reshi, Mehrajudin Dar son of Sonaullah Dar and Faisal Habib Lone son of Habibullah Lone all the residents of Gund Jehangir, Hajin, District Bandipora.
Stating that during the course of investigation technical leads revealed that the arrested trio are working as militant associates of LeT (TRF) militant outfit and are involved in a recent grenade attack at Palhallan carried out on 17th November this year, police in the above referred statement said that a case vide FIR No.327/2021 of PS Pattan under relevant sections of law stands already registered and on their disclosure two grenades were recovered from their possession.
“Investigations also revealed that the arrested trio were given instructions by the militants across the border and aim behind the attacks was to create an atmosphere of fear & chaos and to draw reaction against Kashmiri Youth outside J&K”, reads the concluding para of the police statement, adding that “further investigation into the case is going on”.
