Jammu : Director General Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 70 lakh special welfare relief for NoKs of deceased police personnel vide different orders of PHQ.
According to an order issued from Police Heaquarters (PHQ) here the special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SI Ranjit Singh and SgCt. Mohammad Maqbool who expired due to illness. Rupees 20 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of legal heirs of deceased HC Darshan Lal who expired due to vehicular accident.
According to yet another order issued from PHQ here the DGP has sanctioned Rupees six Lakh in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SPO Baljinder Singh who passed away due to road accident during the course of their engagement with the department.
Pertinent to mention that Police headquarters has sanctioned over Rupees 41 crore as Ex-gratia and Special welfare relief in favour of slain/ deceased police personnel during this year till today. Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of those killed in the line of duty, their wards and also for the retired police personnel and their spouses.
